Chichester Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge 2015
Oving Parish is truly blessed when it comes to support from Woodhorn Farm and its associated components. This year, we are again the beneficiaries of team sponsorship from Woodhorn and we are once again looking to our Oving Parish residents for potential “Paddling Otters”.
The event will kick off around 10am on Sunday June 14th with canal side warm up exercises. Each team will have a practice paddle, then three qualifying heats with a grand final involving the three fastest times. It is a fun day with lots of spectators around and usually finishes by around 3.30pm.
So, if your work routines allow, we would be delighted if you could turn out for the crew, or just come along and support.
The event does have its serious side and aims to raise money for CANCERWISE and Chi Priory Rotary charities. It is hardly credible that we are just a month away from the Challenge, we are a little late in getting things underway, so it is imperative we commence fund raising as soon a possible. We look for a conservative figure of £75 per “Paddler” and I recall last year many of you exceeded that figure..
