Oving Community Garden – Saturday 3rd April
Saturday 3rd April. 9.00. Let’s start growing!
Important: We need to ensure that we are compliant with government guidelines so there may be some limits to what we can do at this time.
Lockdown is easing, so please come along and join us at the garden. We are going to start work on the growing beds, laying cardboard and moving topsoil.
Please collect and bring along cardboard. Cardboard is a great compostable medium that will suppress the weeds allowing us to place a growing bed right on top of the grass or weeds. The weeds underneath the cardboard will rot down and provide growing plants with nutrients.
There are plenty of jobs we need a hand with.
- Growing beds need setting up.
- 2 tons of topsoil to move and spread on the beds.
- The hedge needs a weed and tidy.
- The shed needs a base.
- Compost bins need building.
- The guttering needs finishing to collect rainwater.
We will discuss what we are going to plant and when!
